Principles from the Revelation

“Then I saw a Lamb…”

“God’s Story of Redemption”

The Bible is God’s Story of His creation and the redemption of His people.

God created everything to reveal Himself and His Glory to His creation.

Sin brought death and destruction.  Jesus, God’s Son, brings life and eternity.

The curse is reversed for all who trust in Jesus, the Living Savior.

God’s story gives direction and purpose to our stories.

“God’s Prophecy: The Telling and Foretelling of God’s Story”
Isaiah 46:9-10 (Past)
“Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’”

Prophecy reveals that God confides in His people for their good and His glory.

Galatians 4:4-5 (Present)
“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son,
born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law,
that we might receive adoption to sonship.”

Jesus Christ stands at the center of prophecy from Genesis to Revelation.

Ephesians 1: 8b-10 (Future)
“With all wisdom and understanding,
he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure,
which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

Fulfillment of prophecy gives us confidence as we anticipate Jesus’ return.

“The Consummation of All Things”
 Why should I read Revelation?

As we #WalkinVictory, we see the goodness and greatness of God and find hope and stability for our life’s journey.

What change will Revelation bring to my life?

As we #WatchtheLamb, we will see the vision of our eternal destiny and find hope and renewal while we wait for His return.

“The Revelation of the Risen Christ and John’s Commissioning”
Revelation 1
“Look, He is coming with the clouds,’ and ‘every eye will see him, even those who pierced him’: and all peoples on earth ‘will mourn because of Him.’ So shall it be! Amen.” Revelation 1:7

Believers hear and take to heart God’s Word.

Believers live out the purposes for which God saved them.

Believers live life saturated in the divine presence of Jesus Christ.

“Jesus Challenges the Churches”
Revelation 2:1-11
“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.  To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7
“The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white.  I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and His angels.” Revelation 3:5
“I am coming soon.  Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.  The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it.  I will write the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God: and I will also write on them my new name. ” Revelation 3:11-12
